Mary Yarbrough, M.D., M.P.H., was recently elected to a three-year term on the board of directors of the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (ACOEM), an international medical society of more than 6,000 physician and health professional members dedicated to promoting the health and safety of workers.
Yarbrough, director of Health and Wellness at Vanderbilt, was the first female graduate of the School of Engineering's Biomedical Engineering program, and she completed medical school as well as her residency at Vanderbilt. She oversees the Occupational Health Clinic, Health Plus, Work/Life Connections-EAP, including Physician and Nurse Wellness Programs, and the Child Care Centers.
Yarbrough is a member of the Tennessee College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, which is one of the 31 societies that comprise ACOEM. She also serves as a delegate for the House of Delegates, and has been a member of ACOEM since 1994.
