The annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Award will be presented Monday, Jan. 20, 2020, to a faculty or staff member in the School of Medicine, School of Nursing, or Medical Center who emulates the principles of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. through his or her work.

Deas to deliver Jan. 21 Martin Luther King Jr. lecture

Deborah Deas, MD, MPH, the Mark and Pam Rubin Dean of the School of Medicine and chief executive officer for Clinical Affairs at the University of California, Riverside, will speak from noon to 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 21, in conjunction with the 2019 Martin Luther King Jr. Commemorative Series at Vanderbilt.

Nominations are being accepted for the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Award, which will be presented Monday, Jan. 21, 2019, to a faculty or staff member in the School of Medicine, School of Nursing or Medical Center who emulates through his or her work the principles of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

MLK lecturer sees teamwork as crucial to health care diversity

David Gordon, M.D., dean of the University of Akron College of Health Professions, gave the 2017 Martin Luther King Jr. Commemorative Lecture on Monday at Vanderbilt, touching on the theme of teamwork as it relates to health care diversity.
