Gannon selected for American Diabetes Association Award

Maureen Gannon, PhD, professor of Medicine, Molecular Physiology and Biophysics, and Cell and Developmental Biology, is the recipient of the 2022 Lois Jovanovic Transformative Woman in Diabetes Award presented by the American Diabetes Association (ADA).

Jennifer Emery is used to celebrating patients’ successes in physical therapy. This time, she’s the one being celebrated as a Credo Award winner.

Aliyu named director of Vanderbilt Institute for Global Health

Renowned physician-epidemiologist Muktar Aliyu, MBBS, MPH, DrPH, who is the associate director for Research with the Vanderbilt Institute for Global Health (VIGH), has been named the new director of the institute, beginning July 1.

Buckley named director of Medical Innovators Development Program

Vanderbilt University School of Medicine’s Medical Innovators Development Program (MIDP), which trains candidates through a four-year, innovation-centered MD curriculum, has been revised to grow the program in both enrollment and scope.

The program also has a new director in Ryan Buckley, MD. Buckley, assistant professor of Clinical Medicine in the Section of Hospital Medicine, will take the helm from founding director Reed Omary, MD, MS, on July 1.
