The American Nurses Credentialing Center appraisers will be at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and clinics Feb. 20-24. With just seven weeks to go, VUMC nursing leaders are encouraging everyone to re-familiarize themselves with Vanderbilt’s Nursing Professional Practice Model that illustrates how nurses practice, collaborate, communicate and develop professionally.
Vanderbilt’s Professional Practice Model – on paper and in practice – puts patients and their families at the center of the nursing organization and drives the care delivery system for all disciplines. Staff should be able to speak to how patients and their families are the focus of their work.
They should be able to give examples from their work that illustrate the four key components of the model: Evidence-Based Practice, Quality/Safety/Service, Professionalism and Leadership and Integrated Technology.
