Paul Sternberg, M.D., George Weeks Hale Professor of Ophthalmology, chair of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences and director of the Vanderbilt Eye Institute, presented U.S. Congressman Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) with the American Academy of Ophthalmology’s 2013 Visionary Award. The Visionary Award was created to recognize Members of Congress who make a significant contribution to ophthalmology. Members of Congress are selected to receive the award for outstanding legislative efforts toward the betterment of eye care and public access to quality health care. Sternberg is President of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
