University of Michigan’s Little set for next Discovery Lecture

Roderick Little, Ph.D., a statistician with expertise in the analysis of data sets with missing values, will deliver the next Flexner Discovery Lecture on Thursday, Jan. 28.

Little is the Richard D. Remington Distinguished University Professor of Biostatistics at the University of Michigan. His talk, titled “Intention-to-Treat Analysis with Treatment Discontinuation and Missing Data in Clinical Trials,” will begin at 4 p.m. in 208 Light Hall.

Little has written extensively on the application of statistics to diverse scientific areas, including medicine, demography, economics, psychiatry, aging and the environment. In 2005 he received the Wilks’ Memorial Award from the American Statistical Association for his research contributions.

Little is a Fellow of the American Statistical Association and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and he is a member of the National Academy of Medicine. His lecture is sponsored by the Vanderbilt Center for Quantitative Sciences.
