The Nashville Health Care Council has announced the appointment of new and renewing members to its 2016-2017 board of directors. C. Wright Pinson, MBA, M.D., Deputy CEO and Chief Health System Officer for Vanderbilt University Medical Center, will serve as chair of the board for a two-year term.
Pinson, the board’s former vice-chair, succeeds William Gracey, former president and CEO of BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee, who served as chair from 2015-2016 and remains on the board as a director. R. Milton Johnson, chairman and CEO of the Hospital Corporation of America, was selected to begin a two-year term as vice-chair of the board.
“The council plays an integral part in promoting the growth of Nashville’s $73 billion health care industry. As council chairman, I look forward to working alongside the other directors and members to continue this important work,” Pinson said.
The Nashville Health Care Council is a premier association of health care industry leaders working together to further establish Nashville’s position as the nation’s health care industry capital.
