First place: Artist Elia Absar, 9, daughter of Samantha Absar of the Center for Patient and Professional Advocacy.
Jack-o-lanterns, witches, haunted houses and more — the VUMC Voice’s Halloween children’s art contest drew an impressive array of terrifying seasonal images. The contest was divided by the age of the artist, with 4-6 year-olds in their own category, and 7-12 year-olds in the older category.
The winner of the 7-to-12 age group is Elia Absar, 9, daughter of Samantha Absar of the Center for Patient and Professional Advocacy, for her eerie glowing jack-o-lantern under a nighttime sky. First runner-up is Kevin Song, 8, son of Wenliang Song of the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine, and there was a tie for second runner-up between My Hanh Le, 10, daughter of Loc Le of VUMC IT, and Jaya Srivastava, 11, daughter of Priyanka Srivastava of Pathology, Microbiology and Immunology.
The winners of the 4-to-6 age group are here.
