Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital wants to brighten the hospital stay for patients during the holidays with the help of the community.

In partnership with Mattel and Fisher-Price, the national Children’s Hospital Association has launched its fourth annual Spread Joy with Toys campaign, which runs through Dec. 1. The top 15 hospitals with the highest number of votes win toys.

“There is never a good time to be in the hospital,” said Janet Cross, MEd, CCLS, CPXP, administrative director, Patient and Family-Centered Care at Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt. “This is especially true at the winter holidays.

“While donated gifts bring smiles to faces of many children and youth, the stress that is alleviated from parents and caregivers is significant, allowing them to worry about one less thing.

“We’d love to be among the top 15 hospitals with the most votes to help secure extra smiles this holiday season.”
