Cuban is a businessman who owns the Dallas Mavericks NBA team and is an investor on the ABC television show “Shark Tank.” He is also the founder of the online business Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drug Co., which offers prescription drugs at discounted prices.
The discussion will explore implications of the Journal of Urology paper that shows Cuban’s new drug company could save patients $1.29 billion a year based on 2020 Medicare Part D expenditures on the nine most popular urological drugs. The study was authored by Talwar and Sam S. Chang, MD, MBA, Patricia and Rodes Hart Endowed Professor of Urologic Surgery and VUMC Chief Surgical Officer, Vanderbilt Ingram Cancer Center.
