VUMC Pets of the Day: Lilbit and Banjo

Lilbit rules the house. She vocally lets everyone know when it is treat time and bedtime.

Today’s Cat of the Day is Lilbit, submitted by Kami M. Davies of Vanderbilt Eye Institute, Hendersonville. “Lilbit rules the house. She vocally lets everyone know when it is treat time and bedtime.”

Today’s Dog of the Day is Banjo, submitted by Bryan Berndt of 7 Medical Center East. “We rescued this li’l guy from a Tennessee farm five years ago after his owners determined he wasn’t destined for country living and squirrel chasing. He’s now a spoiled bougie city dog living in East Nashville with chickens and two other canines. He loves going for car rides, riding shotgun and searching for anything unusual (in his mind). Home Depot is his ultimate dream come true. The slightest mention of this magical destination elicits, as I would imagine, a similar response to that of children being told they are going to Disney World. He’s happy to greet customers as much as he’s happy for customers to greet him. He’s precious, and he’s my buddy.”

Pets of the Day — what you need to know

The Vanderbilt University Medical Center Pets of the Day are included in regular editions of the MyVUMC newsletter, which is posted twice a week by VUMC News and Communications.

The pets are selected from the hundreds of entries sent earlier this year to the VUMC Voice Pet Photo Contest.

For those who submitted a photo to that contest, watch MyVUMC for Pets of the Day, and in addition, regular collections of pet photos are posted to the VUMC Voice site. You can see them all here: https://voice.vumc.org/tag/pets/.

If you have a pet you would like to nominate for Pet of the Day, the next Pet Photo Contest submission period is coming up in 2024, and will be announced in MyVUMC.

Lilbit and Banjo were featured in the Jan. 16, 2024 edition of MyVUMC.
