The attestation language for service by house staff will be updated March 6. CMS has updated its documentation guidelines for house staff, and this new language matches those new documentation guidelines.
Current Attestation Verbiage: “I saw and evaluated the patient. I discussed the care with the resident and agree with the findings and plan as documented in the attached note.”
Updated Attestation verbiage: “I was present during the performance of the key portions of the service by the house staff with whom I discussed the case management details outlined below.”
