VUMC’s Academy for Excellence in Education in collaboration with the Vanderbilt School of Medicine presents the 2024 John E. Chapman, MD, Lecture in Medical Education with Quinn Capers IV, MD. Capers is an interventional cardiologist who recently accepted a position as Professor and Chair, Department of Medicine at Howard University School of Medicine. He is an educator, clinician, and champion of diversity enhancement in medicine and has extensively published on diversity and health care disparities.
Capers’ presentation, titled “Standing Firm: Making the Evidence-Based Argument for Diversity in Medicine Amidst the ‘Anti-DEI’ Backlash’”, will be held at noon on Monday, April 29, in 214 Light Hall.
