As part of ongoing efforts to enhance the ability to securely communicate between team members, VUMC is expanding its use of Mobile Heartbeat across the organization.
A June 15, 2024, deadline has been established for all VUMC clinicians to be enrolled in and using Mobile Heartbeat.
Mobile Heartbeat offers users a communication option that is secure, timely and efficient, factors of the utmost importance for individuals and teams to work together to deliver excellent care for patients.
“Currently, knowing who is on the care team and how to communicate with various team members is complicated, time consuming and introduces risk to timely patient care and sometimes, secure communication,” said Robin Steaban, MSN, RN, Chief Nursing Officer for Vanderbilt University Hospital. “Standardizing care team communications to this secure platform, when used as intended, allows all team members to quickly see who is on the team and easily connect to the right person. It removes some friction from team-based care and makes us a better team. What an advantage! Thanks for moving in this direction.”
To facilitate a smooth transition there are multiple support options being provided to help clinicians download and install Mobile Device Management (MDM) and Mobile Heartbeat.
Support options include self-directed materials, webinars with a live trainer, or in-person installation support at VUMC’s 21st Avenue and One Hundred Oaks campuses.
