‘Supporting Patient Behavior Change,’ a summer bootcamp for health care professionals hosted by Vanderbilt’s Osher Center for Integrative Health set for May 11 – June 19

This bootcamp is designed to teach how to leverage the science and art of empowering patients in all stages of change. Participants will learn to better engage patients to change. The Vanderbilt Health Coaching Program is offering this 10-hour course across 6-weeks for all types of clinicians, including RN, PT, OT, PA, NP, and MD. 

  • 4 hrs asynchronous learning thru short movies & demos 
  • 6 hrs (one hour per week) synchronous skills practice with like-minded professionals  
  • Individualized expert feedback in live sessions 
  • Topics include how to listen for and amplify patient’s desire for change (using Motivational Interviewing 4.0), how to link patients values and behaviors to drive change, support for overcoming barriers 
  • Thursdays from noon-1 p.m. CDT, May 15- June 19, 2025
