Vanderbilt University Medical Center has earned a Best Wellness Employer Gold Certification from the Best Wellness Employer Certification and Research Program, which is sponsored by Harvard Medical School.
VUMC’s application was submitted through Health Plus, a part of Faculty and Staff Health and Wellness.
“This recognition is a testament to the ongoing dedication to workforce well-being that is seen at all levels throughout VUMC,” said Lori Rolando, MD, MPH, executive director of Faculty and Staff Health and Wellness.
The Best Wellness Employers Certification and Research Program evaluates organizations based on criteria such as assessment, strategy, implementation and evaluation. Nominated programs are eligible for three merit categories, gold, silver and bronze. This is the ninth year of the awards.
“The gold standard of workplace wellness includes objective measurements and substantial evidence that a healthy culture has been established and maintained,” said the notification email from the Best Wellness Employers program.
“The supplemental documentation submitted on behalf of the Vanderbilt University Medical Center wellness initiatives displayed a thorough assessment of your employee population, a commitment to engage through comprehensive strategy and thoughtful implementation, and careful evaluation of your program.”
