Nashville Sounds host Donate Life Game to benefit Tennessee Donor Services, May 21

First Tennessee Park, home of the Nashville Sounds.

The non-profit Tennessee Donor Services and the Nashville Sounds will host a special Donate Life Game on Wednesday, May 21, to honor organ donors and celebrate lives saved through organ donation. A portion of the ticket sales will be donated to TDS.

The gates at First Horizon Park in Nashville will open at 5:35 p.m. Prior to the game against Yankees affiliate Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders, Kasen Fisher, son of donor Kyle Fisher, will throw the ceremonial first pitch to liver transplant recipient Ryland Helmlinger at 6:35 p.m.

Fisher, a paramedic, had previously registered as an organ donor when he went into cardiac arrest and died in early 2019. His organs and tissue went to six people, including Helmlinger, then 4 months old, who received part of Fisher’s liver.

A special Round the Bases for Life featuring donor family members is also planned.
