“NFL Presents” is hosting a webinar on player health and safety across all levels of football Wednesday, Sept. 3, at 7:30 p.m. CT, according to a notice from NFL Chief Medical Officer Allen Sills, MD, also a professor of Neurological Surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

The webinar will bring together a group of experts from the youth, high school and college levels — including Alex Diamond, DO, MPH, director of the Vanderbilt Youth Sports Health Center and chair of the National Federation of State High School Associations Sports Medicine Advisory Committee — for a conversation about how their programs approach player health and safety.
Other webinar panelists:
- Jay Clugston, MD, clinical professor in the Department of Community Health and Family Medicine and a team physician for the University of Florida Athletic Association.
- Collin Francis, associate athletic director for Student Athlete Health, Wellness and Performance, Howard University
- Chad Pennington, former NFL quarterback and current head football coach, Sayre School
Topics will include everything from rules changes and equipment to practice techniques and coaching styles.
“I’ll share the NFL’s approach to sharing data, research and learnings with other levels of the game, and how the league has adapted certain practices from the high school and college levels,” Sills said in an email about the event. “We’ll also discuss how we can all continue to evolve to keep athletes safer and healthier.”
