MEGAMicrobe, a free exploration of the world of microbes for students ages 5 to 15 and their families, will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 27, at the Jones Paideia Magnet School, 1800 9th Ave. N. in Nashville.

Hosted by the Vanderbilt Institute for Infection, Immunology and Inflammation (VI4), the eighth annual MEGAMicrobe event invites students to conduct science experiments, join in hands-on activities, and win prizes and giveaways. Parents and teachers are also welcome.

This year’s theme is Microbes: Live! On Stage. Scientists from Vanderbilt University and Vanderbilt University Medical Center will lead several fun activities revealing the important roles that microscopic organisms play in the environment and human health.

Jones Paideia Magnet School is located near the corner of 9th Ave. N. and Delta Avenue. For more information, visit www.vumc.org/viiii/megamicrobe or contact Megan Schladt at megan.schladt@vumc.org
