MEGAMicrobe event to explore world of microbes Sept. 17

Families, parents, teachers, and students are invited to explore the world of microbes during a free hands-on event from 9 a.m.to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, at the Warner Elementary Arts Magnet School, 626 Russell Street in East Nashville.

Hosted by the Vanderbilt Institute for Infection, Immunology and Inflammation (VI4) in partnership with Nashville Parent magazine, the fifth annual “MEGAMicrobe Express” will invite children under age 14 to conduct science experiments, participate in hands-on activities and games, and win prizes and giveaways.

Interactive booths will feature different microbes, including bacteria and viruses.

The MEGAMicrobe Express is hosted by scientists from Vanderbilt University and Vanderbilt University Medical Center who are dedicated to showing the Nashville community that science is fun, accessible, and important.
