Flu season is right around the corner, and now is the time to protect yourself by getting your annual flu shot. It’s important to get a flu vaccination to not only reduce your risk of getting the flu but also to reduce the risk of spreading the flu to others, especially those around you who may be vulnerable to becoming very sick.
Occupational Health offers easy and convenient ways for employees to get their flu shot. Here are October dates for Fight the Flu Vaccination Stations
- Oct. 16 – 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Children’s Theater, Monroe Carell
- Oct. 17 – 4-8 p.m., Langford Auditorium
- Oct. 30 – 11 a.m.-3 p.m., Langford Auditorium
- Oct. 31 – 7-11 a.m., Langford Auditorium

- Come by the Flu Vaccine Express Clinic, Medical Arts Building, Suite 112, Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m.-4 p.m. No appointment needed.
- Visit the Occupational Health Clinic at Medical Arts Building, 6th Floor, Monday-Friday, 7 a.m.-4 p.m. No appointment needed.
- Visit OHC at One Hundred Oaks, Vanderbilt Primary Care North, Suite 20400, every Wednesday, 8-11:30 a.m. No appointment needed.
- Regional Hospitals – Visit the Occupational Health nurse at your location.
- Visit Vanderbilt Health Walk-in Clinics or Vanderbilt Health at Walgreens.
- Make an appointment with your primary care provider.
Flu vaccines take approximately two weeks after being administered to provide full protection. That’s why experts recommend getting vaccinated by the end of October to ensure you’re fully protected throughout the flu season, which typically peaks in the winter months.
As a reminder, VUMC employees are required to meet compliance requirements for flu vaccination by Nov. 1.
