Anne Marie Tharpe, Ph.D., and Jeff Balser, M.D., Ph.D., were all smiles at a recent reception honoring Tharpe, who was named last year to succeed Fred Bess, Ph.D., as chair of the Department of Hearing and Speech Sciences and as associate director of the Vanderbilt Bill Wilkerson Center.
