Evans joins cancer clinicians at VICC
Carol Evans, M.D., has joined Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center as assistant professor of Clinical Medicine in the Division of Hematology/Oncology.
Her practice interests include breast cancer, colorectal cancer, upper gastrointestinal cancers, pancreatic cancer, lymphomas, multiple myeloma and benign hematology. Evans plans to move her practice to VICC's new Green Hills cancer clinic which is scheduled to open in the fall of 2010.
“I am very pleased to assume this new role at Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center,” said Evans. “I enjoy the opportunity to provide the most comprehensive cancer care in a community setting and I am looking forward to helping expand our services to patients in Green Hills.”
Prior to VICC, Evans served as clinical assistant professor of Medicine and clinical instructor of Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in Pennsylvania. She has also held academic appointments as adjunct associate clinical professor at Duquesne University School of Nursing in Pittsburgh, and assistant professor of Medicine at the Medical College of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.
Evans earned her medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. She served an internship and residency at Montefiore Hospital, Pittsburgh, where she also completed a fellowship in Hematology/Oncology.
She has published more than two dozen manuscripts and abstracts.
