Commencement concert features music of Earth Wind & Fire
Seniors, their families and friends can kick off this year’s commencement by grooving to the music of Earth Wind & Fire presented by the Al McKay Allstars at The Party – the first event of Vanderbilt’s three days of commencement activities in May.
The entire Vanderbilt community is invited to join The Party and dance under the stars on Wednesday, May 6, from 9 p.m. to midnight on the Peabody Mall Lawn near the Peabody College of Education and Human Development. The event will be held rain or shine.
Five-time Grammy award winner and former founding member of Earth Wind & Fire, Al McKay, and his all-star band will present legendary songs such as “Getaway,” “Singasong” and “September.” Opening for the Al McKay Allstars will be campus favorites Soul Incision, who will play their own brand of rock ‘n’ roll.
Vanderbilt Student Government President Joseph Williams and graduating seniors helped select this year’s entertainment.
All undergraduate degree candidates will receive one complimentary ticket at their campus mail address. Graduate and professional degree candidates will receive one complimentary ticket at the address the University has on file as their local address.
Tickets for degree candidates’ guests and members of the Vanderbilt community are on sale now and may be purchased online for $20 at https://www4.vanderbilt.edu/commencement/purchase.php.
Alcoholic beverages will be available at cash bars at the event. Please be prepared to show a photo ID that verifies age in order to purchase drink tickets for use at the cash bars.
