Nancy Lorenzi, Ph.D., was recently inducted into the Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International.

Honor Society of Nursing taps Lorenzi

Nancy Lorenzi, Ph.D., professor of Biomedical Informatics and assistant vice chancellor for Health Affairs at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, has been selected as a member of the Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International.

Honorees are typically members who are exclusively in the field of nursing.

Lorenzi was honored for her many interdisciplinary contributions in medical informatics and her career-long dedication to health sciences information. She was inducted during a special ceremony at the society's biennial convention held Nov. 12-16 in Indianapolis.

Lorenzi is a biomedical informatics scholar who has sought to improve the quality of health care for people all over the world.

She has maintained a commitment to excellence and promoted learning in the areas of organizational behavior, change in health care organizations and electronic health records. Among her many recognitions, Lorenzi was given the 2004 Noyes Award for her lifetime achievement in health sciences information.

She is a clinical professor of Nursing at Vanderbilt University School of Nursing and a visiting professor at the University of Wisconsin School of Nursing.

Lorenzi was nominated by the local chapter at Vanderbilt, with supporting letters of recommendation from nursing informaticists from around the world.
