Carole H. Bartoo, known to many as Carole Houser, R.N. of Channel 4, has joined the staff of Vanderbilt Medical Center News and Public Affairs as senior information officer.
Bartoo will work with Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital to promote external media coverage of the facility’s latest research and clinical advances.
Bartoo worked as a medical reporter for Nashville’s WSMV station, where she covered daily medical news in the Nashville market including the latest research, new FDA approvals and public health education.
She graduated from University of Missouri-Columbia with a bachelor’s degree in journalism. She later earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Mt. Carmel College of Nursing.
“Carole is a great addition to our staff,” said Bill Hance, director of News and Public Affairs. “Her medical expertise, combined with extensive reporting skills, will enhance awareness of the important clinical and research contributions offered at Children’s Hospital.”
