The main entrance of the old School of Medicine was dedicated last weekend in honor of Dr. John E. Chapman and Judy Jean Chapman. The Judy Jean and John E. Chapman Quadrangle was officially dedicated Saturday with the unveiling of several sculptures in the courtyard. Above, the Chapmans, along with Donna Glasford, right, and Jenny Lewis talk with artist Maurice Blik as they discuss his sculpture, “Pursuit of Knowledge.” Chapman graduated 3,317 medical students (nearly two-thirds of the living graduates) during his tenure as dean over the past 25 years. Chapman announced last year that he would leave the dean’s post to assume the post of associate vice chancellor for Medical Alumni Affairs once a new dean was named. (photos by Tommy Lawson)
