The construction tower on Medical Center Drive which has been used in building the Jim Ayers Tower will be dismantled beginning Friday, July 18.
Work to take down the crane will begin at 6 p.m. on Friday, July 18, as support cranes are set in place to dismantle the tower crane. This will involve temporarily closing 63 parking spaces on the ninth level of the Central Garage, and reducing traffic on Medical Center Drive in front of The Vanderbilt Clinic to one southbound lane.
Officers will be on site directing vehicular and pedestrian traffic around the clock.
The parking spaces and all lanes of traffic on Medical Center Drive are scheduled to be reopened by 6 a.m. on Monday, July 21.
