Nursing’s Maxwell honored with National Hartford Center Award

The National Hartford Center of Gerontological Nursing Excellence has named Cathy Maxwell, assistant professor of nursing, its 2017 Innovation Award recipient. The award recognizes and celebrates innovative programs and projects that highlight excellence in gerontological nursing.

Working in trauma and critical care for most of her career, Cathy Maxwell noticed profound differences among older patients and their responses to injury. Her curiosity led her to become a nurse researcher in this area.
