Card named president-elect of American Society for PeriAnesthesia Nurses

Elizabeth Card, MSN, RN, APRN, FNP-BC, nursing research consultant and nurse practitioner, has been named president-elect for the American Society for PeriAnesthesia Nurses (ASPAN). She will serve as president beginning in April 2020.

New publication highlights research by VUMC nurses

Nurse researchers have a powerful new outlet to share their work with the Vanderbilt community. It’s called The Empowered Nurse, a twice-yearly, peer-reviewed journal for and about nursing research. The Office of Nursing Research released the first issue in May in celebration of Nurses Week.

VUMC team devises ‘novel’ idea to help improve hypertension education

Reading a comic book may improve the health of hypertension patients, or at least that’s the goal of a new study at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
