Address highlights VUMC Nursing’s achievements, progress

Executive Chief Nursing Officer Marilyn Dubree, MSN, RN, recounted an epic year for Vanderbilt Nursing and looked ahead to a bright future in her 2018 State of Nursing address on May 22.

eStar Stabilization effort making steady progress

In mid-January, representatives from Epic visited Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where they rounded on a number of hospital units and outpatient clinics. They used anonymous survey results and spoke directly with clinicians, nurses and other staff members to better understand how well VUMC was doing two months after its transition to eStar.

EpicLeap excellence

EpicLeap Space Stations reach thousands of VUMC employees

Ten EpicLeap Space Stations were launched in Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) inpatient areas, outpatient clinics and other locations in September, and they provided a unique way for employees to learn more about the sweeping technology initiative to implement VUMC’s new clinical, administrative and billing software.

EpicLeap mobile information centers begin making rounds

Under the sweeping technology initiative called EpicLeap, Vanderbilt University Medical Center is on course to replace the greater part of its clinical, billing and administrative software by November 2017, with an eye to improving continuity of care, efficiency and patient and care-team experiences.

With the transition of Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) into a new financial and legal entity now complete, Medical Center leaders view this period as an opportunity to sharpen the organization’s strategic focus.
