Vanderbilt University Medical Center’s Diagnostic Laboratories continue to expand in-house services in order to more efficiently diagnose and treat patients. A recent survey indicates clinicians’ overall satisfaction with the efforts.

Many computer monitors throughout Vanderbilt University Medical Center will soon be replaced with new 24-inch monitors.

In mid-January, representatives from Epic visited Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where they rounded on a number of hospital units and outpatient clinics. They used anonymous survey results and spoke directly with clinicians, nurses and other staff members to better understand how well VUMC was doing two months after its transition to eStar.

Recently, thousands of Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) employees took a moment to stop by Langford Auditorium so members of leadership could thank them for their time, effort and dedication in making the historic transition to VUMC’s new Epic-based electronic health record system, known as eStar.

With the liftoff of eStar accomplished, it’s time to set the course for optimizing the new information technology ecosystem for Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC), but not without first thanking all those who delivered seamless patient care during the transition, said Jeff Balser, MD, PhD, President and CEO of VUMC and Dean of Vanderbilt University School of Medicine.

Last week Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) switched to a new computer system for electronic health records, ordering of tests and drugs, supporting inpatient and outpatient care delivery, billing and other hospital and clinic operations.

On Nov. 2, Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) will switch to a new computer system, called eStar, which will support the health system’s electronic health records, workflows for inpatient and outpatient care delivery, test ordering, billing and other hospital and clinic operations.
