Alicia Georges, a leading nursing advocate and the national volunteer president-elect of the 38 million-member AARP, will be the first speaker in the Vanderbilt University School of Nursing’s 2018 Dean’s Diversity Lecture series.

Nilda Peragallo Montano, dean of the School of Nursing at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, will speak on culturally appropriate ways for practitioners and researchers to reach out to and work with Latino subjects. The lecture will be Thursday, May 11, at 2 p.m. in Godchaux Nursing Annex, Room 161.

U.S. deputy surgeon general to speak Jan. 9

Hear the deputy surgeon general of the United States, Rear Adm. Sylvia Trent-Adams, on Monday, Jan. 9, at 3 p.m. in Room 155 of the Godchaux Nursing Annex. Her talk is part of the Vanderbilt University School of Nursing Dean’s Diversity Lecture Series.
