Couple’s gift spurs pediatric allergy research, training

Kathy Delzell Anderson and her husband, Steve, know firsthand how allergies can affect a person’s overall health and well-being. Kathy is a lifelong allergy sufferer, and the couple’s son, Clint, has seasonal allergies.

Annual Heart Walk a special event for transplant patient

On Aug. 4, 2014, Mary Thomas of Tullahoma biked 10 miles. Fourteen days later she received a life-saving heart transplant at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC).

Flulapalooza mass vaccination event takes place Oct. 11

Flulapalooza 6 will be held Tuesday, Oct. 11, and will offer staff, students and volunteers free flu shots. The event will take place in a large tent erected between Light Hall and Veteran’s Administration (VA) Hospital from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Annual cancer survivorship celebration slated for Nov. 6

Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center’s 2016 Cancer Survivorship Celebration will be held Sunday, Nov. 6, from 2 to 4 p.m. The annual event is being hosted in partnership with Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt.
