Christmas Parade again rallies support for Children’s Hospital

The 65th Annual Piedmont Natural Gas Nashville Christmas Parade, presented by Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge, kicked off the holiday season on Saturday, Dec. 1, in downtown Nashville. Again, this year, the parade supported Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt and its programs.

Officials from Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt, Piedmont Natural Gas and Tootsies gathered Sept. 20 to gear up for the 65th annual Piedmont Natural Gas Nashville Christmas Parade presented by Tootsie’s.

In its 64th year, the Nashville Christmas Parade on Dec. 2 — themed “The Musical Mile!” — was a celebration of music with a record number of celebrities, marching bands, floats and large balloons filling the streets of downtown Music City with holiday festivity.

Officials from Piedmont Natural Gas and Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt, joined by Nashville Mayor Megan Barry, announced today that retired Nashville Predators Captain Mike Fisher will serve as Grand Marshal for this year’s 64th annual Piedmont Natural Gas Nashville Christmas Parade presented by Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge. Children’s Hospital will again benefit from some of the proceeds from the parade.
