Vanderbilt University and Medical Center take next steps in transition

Vanderbilt University and Medical Center filed documents with the Tennessee Attorney General Dec. 14 related to their transition to two separate legal and financial entities.

Reminder: Faculty Senate town hall on Vanderbilt reorganization is Oct. 30

The Faculty Senate, in partnership with Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Susan Wente and Vice Chancellor for Health Affairs and Dean of the School of Medicine Jeff Balser, will host a second town hall meeting on the VU-VUMC reorganization Friday, Oct. 30.

Working group-designed model for pre-award grant contract support and director search launched

A university working group has established the model for a new office that will provide pre-award support for university faculty grant and contract proposals to external funding agencies following the VU-VUMC reorganization. A search for the new office’s director also has been launched.

Governing board for Vanderbilt University Medical Center named

The Vanderbilt University Board of Trust has elected the members of the governing board for Vanderbilt University Medical Center. This independent board will immediately begin planning for VUMC to operate as a separate entity and will govern the Medical Center once its financial and administrative transition from the university is complete.

Faculty Senate survey, town halls aim to answer questions about transition

The Faculty Senate is organizing an Oct. 30 town hall to answer faculty questions about the transition of the university and Vanderbilt University Medical Center to separate entities.

Comment period open on proposed revisions to Faculty Manual

Faculty members are encouraged to view and comment on proposed changes to the Faculty Manual. The comment period is from Aug. 18 to Sept. 4.
