Arnow president-elect of pediatric nurses society

Debbie Arnow, M.S.N., R.N., has been named president-elect of the Society of Pediatric Nurses.

Arnow, who serves as director of Nursing Education and Professional Development for the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt, will take the helm of the organization for a two-year term beginning in 2010.

She will continue the 3,000-member organization's mission with focus on partnerships, advocacy, global initiatives, best practices and member involvement.

“Debbie is an experienced, talented mentor who inspires our staff on a daily basis,” said Pat Givens, Ed.M., R.N., chief nursing officer for Children's Hospital.

“She will provide tremendous leadership on the national level.”

Arnow has worked at Vanderbilt for 17 years.

Prior to that, she served in nursing positions at Texas Children's Hospital in Houston and Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital in Cleveland.
