Biostatistics chair Harrell delivers keynote
Frank Harrell Jr., Ph.D., chair of the Department of Biostatistics, recently delivered the keynote speech at the Statistical Science Awards Ceremony, Centers for Disease Control and Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry in Atlanta.
This is Harrell's third time as a keynote speaker in two months. In May, he spoke for the annual meeting of statisticians of the Cleveland Clinic, Case Western Reserve University, and Ohio State University and was also the invited keynote speaker for the Biostatistics Annual Talk at the Medical College of Wisconsin.
Harrell also recently was named the 2008 Mitchell Lecturer for the Department of Statistics by Glasgow University, Scottland. He also recently presented a one-day short course, “Regression Modeling Strategies,” for the Statistics Society of Canada's annual meeting in Ottawa.
