Dr. Frank H. Boehm, professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology, has published a collection of essays. “Doctors Cry, Too” is an inspirational book dealing with issues surrounding doctors, patients and their families. The essays portray a medical profession that is sensitive, emotional, spiritual, and compassionate.
Boehm writes about special moments in his life, such as a son and daughter going off to college, coping with the personal grief of loved ones, the birth of a granddaughter, and the healing that comes from joy.
The essays also address his point of view on such subjects as strength and courage, faith, happiness, depression, forgiveness, death and dying, and friendship.
A book signing is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 8 at 3:30 pm at Davis Kidd in Green Hills.
Boehm is the director of Maternal/Fetal Medicine at Vanderbilt. A graduate of Vanderbilt Medical School and the Yale-New Haven Hospital Internship and Residency program, Boehm is a specialist in high-risk pregnancy and is recognized worldwide in his specialized field of fetal monitoring. In 1998 and 1998 Boehm was selected as one of the Best Doctors in America.
