Bonuses set for VUMC employees

Vanderbilt University Medical Center staff may receive success-sharing bonuses in their December paychecks based on the Medical Center's financial achievement in fiscal year 2006.

Full-time and some part-time staff may be eligible based on certain criteria:

• Regular full-time staff hired on or before July 1, 2005, will be eligible for $400; regular part-time staff (at least 20 standard hours per week) will be eligible for $200.

• Regular full-time staff hired on or between July 2, 2005, and Jan. 1, 2006, will be eligible for $200; regular part-time staff will be eligible for $100.

• Eligible staff members must have received an overall performance rating of at least “3” on his or her last performance evaluation.

The expanded length of service criteria was initiated to more appropriately reward staff members who have spent a significant part of the year contributing to the Medical Center's operational success.

Those not eligible include:

• Staff in or related to University departments that are assigned to Medical Center are not eligible regardless of actual home department (e.g., Human Resources, VUPD, etc.).

• Individuals currently on final Performance Improvement Counseling (FPIC).

• Supervisors/managers who have not completed performance evaluations on eligible staff.

• Senior and executive leadership staff who are eligible under separate plans.

Eligible hourly paid staff will receive the success sharing bonus in their Dec. 15 paycheck and monthly paid staff will receive it in the Dec. 29 paycheck.
