Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center will continue its ongoing “Cancer Answer Evening” series in 2003 with programs on a wide range of topics including spirituality and cancer, vitamins and herbal supplements, and clinical trials.
The free series of informal conversations with cancer experts is offered on the second Tuesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. In addition, bonus seminars have been scheduled in February, March and May. There are no seminars in July and August.
“There is so much information available about cancer, but it’s very difficult for the average person to know what’s credible,” said Vali Forrister, associate director for Communication and Outreach at Vanderbilt-Ingram. “As the region’s only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, we are in a unique position to clarify the confusion for those in our community.”
Topics and dates for the 2003 “Cancer Answer” series are:
• Feb. 11, Spirituality and Healing: Cancer, a Journey of Body, Mind and Spirit
• Feb. 25, Herbs and Vitamin Supplements: Mother Nature’s Medicine
• March 11, Colon Cancer: Early Detection is the Key
• March 25, Brain Cancer: Hope on the Horizon
