The School of Medicine recently held a reception for medical students to celebrate cultural diversity. The event was hosted by the Office for Diversity in Medical Education and organized by (front row, from left) Luis Huerta, Andy Liao, (back row, from left) James Teng, Merina Thomas and (not pictured) Maria Abreu. The following student organizations also helped with the event: the Asian Pacific American Medical Student Association; the Student National Medical Association; the National Network of Latin American Medical Students; the Alliance for Cultural Diversity in Research; and the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender Alliance.
