Changes set for hourly employees’ attendance system

Vanderbilt University Medical Center is switching to a new time and attendance system for hourly staff who clock in and out of work. The change to Kronos Workforce Central is scheduled for May 31, said Karen F. Nanney, director, Department of Finance.

VUMC's designated timekeepers are being trained to use the system to review and approve employee time records.

When clocking in and out, staff will use the same employee identification badge readers as before. Some of the codes employees use will change, however, such as codes to indicate meal departure or departure for in-service training. The new codes will be posted by each badge reader.

Each staff member will be able to use any Web connection to review his or her electronic time sheet and to send along any needed clarification to the appropriate timekeeper. To get to this Web view, staff members will need a VUNet ID and a Vanderbilt e-password. Instructions for obtaining these are available over the Web at https://vunetid.vanderbilt.edu/epassword.
