Children’s Hospital names Hamnes rehab services director
Erik Hamnes has been named director of Rehabilitation Services for the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt.
Previously, Hamnes was the executive vice president of Easter Seals, where he worked for the past five years. Hamnes has also served as the lead physical therapist at Baptist Hospital.
He received a bachelor's degree in Health Care Sciences and master’s degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston.
“We are delighted to have someone of Erik's caliber join our team at Children's and I look forward with much excitement to his leadership of our Rehabilitation Services,” said David Gregory, administrative director for Clinical Support Services at Children's Hospital. “His proven ability to develop, grow and lead patient services and programs will be a tremendous asset to the Department as well as the Medical Center.”
Hamnes will be responsible for the overall direction of both inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services provided at Children's Hospital and will work in collaboration with his colleagues in other parts of Rehabilitation Services throughout the Medical Center as well as the community.
