Children’s Hospital office lauded for efforts to promote diversity
The Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt and the Department of Pediatrics were selected for an award from a national program aimed at eliminating racial and ethnic disparities in health care.
The award, the Most Improved Project, recognizes Children's Hospital's Office of Inclusion and Health Equity (OIHE), which works with hospital leadership to foster a culture that embraces and promotes diversity, inclusion and respect, and strives to meet the needs of the patient population's rich array of cultures.
The OIHE is one of two teams from 16 health care organizations across the nation to be selected for this award from Disparities Leadership Program 2010-2011. The program is led by the Disparities Solutions Center at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston.
