Day set to highlight cardiovascular research

The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine is hosting its inaugural Samuel S. Riven, M.D., Cardiovascular Research Day highlighting ongoing vascular and heart-related basic and clinical research at Vanderbilt.

The event will take place on Wednesday, March 4, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in Vanderbilt's Student Life Center.

Vanderbilt researchers Antonis Hatzopoulos, Ph.D., P. Charles Lin, Ph.D., MacRae Linton, M.D., Dawood Darbar, M.D., and Joey Barnett, Ph.D., will present on topics in their respective areas of expertise.

Physician and researcher Daniel Rader, M.D., from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, will deliver the keynote presentation at noon.

Abstract submission deadline to be eligible for student, postdoc and fellow awards was Feb. 25.

However, registration and abstract submission is open through March 2.

All individuals who are currently conducting, or are interested in, vascular and heart-related research are welcome and encouraged to submit an abstract for poster presentation.
