Dietitians land awards

Two dietitians from the Vanderbilt Eskind Diabetes Clinic and the Vanderbilt Diabetes Center have received top honors from the Tennessee Dietetic Association.

Becky Gregory, M.S., R.D., L.D.N., was named Outstanding Dietetics Educator, which recognizes nutritionists who demonstrate innovative teaching skills and techniques, mentoring and leadership in the profession.

Gregory works with diabetes patients in Vanderbilt High Risk Obstetrics, performs diabetes research, trains dietetic interns and teaches health care professionals across the country about nutrition and diabetes management.

Stephanie Michon, R.D., L.D.N., was named Emerging Dietetic Leader, which recognizes nutritionists in practice for between five and 10 years who demonstrate concern for the promotion of optimal health and nutrition status of the population.

Michon is the project manager for several federal and state-funded diabetes research studies at Vanderbilt Medical Center and has been involved in research for eight years.
She also serves as president of the Nashville District Dietetic Association.
