Disaster Drill

Vanderbilt was among the Nashville hospitals that participated in Tuesday night’s area-wide Disaster Drill, which tested the hospitals’ decontamination disaster plans. Foremost among the components tested was Vanderbilt’s Decon Shower, one of only a few such units in the nation that is designed to quickly treat large numbers of patients. In the photo at top, volunteer “patient” Nancy Cardwell is scrubbed down by paramedic Trina Pachciarz. Below, Jesse Morgan and others make their way through the shower.
