Dubree on board of Tennessee Special Olympics

Special Olympics Tennessee has named Marilyn Dubree, M.S.N., R.N., chief nursing officer for Vanderbilt University Medical Center, to its board of directors. Dubree previously served a two-year term of office from 2005 to 2006.

“I am truly honored to play a part in the wonderful work that Special Olympics does throughout our state,” said Dubree. “It's an amazing organization that uses athletic competition to transform participants to see their many abilities rather than their disabilities.”

Special Olympics Tennessee provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in 17 Olympic-type sports to more than 13,000 children and adults with intellectual disabilities in the state. Special Olympics Tennessee is a non-profit organization not funded by government agencies. The organization has provided people with intellectual disabilities continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage and experience joy and friendship.
