Emergency Medicine residents take top prize in video contest

Vanderbilt Emergency Medicine residents won first place in the third annual Residency Video Contest sponsored by Emergency Medicine Physicians, a national provider of emergency department staffing solutions.

Their video, titled “We Vandy!,” took top prize for demonstrating why Vanderbilt’s residency program is “the best in emergency medicine.”

“Our residents are a unique group,” said Corey Slovis, M.D., professor and chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine. “This video certainly shows their creativity and how proud they are to be part of Vanderbilt.”

An award of $10,000 will be given to the program, and $5,000 was awarded to Emergency Medicine resident Christie Sullivan, M.D., for submitting the video.

“Not only did we have a ton of fun making the video, but it is also a privilege to be able to show the country how awesome the Vanderbilt EM residency is,” Sullivan said. “We have a lot to be proud of. Plus, now we have $10,000 to do something cool with."
